Arm balances and inversions are a fun part of yoga practice that will help you to build strength, improve balance and increase mental focus. Learn the essentials to help you soar in arm balances and feel confident in inversions. Take this workshop and explore the foundations and key alignment principles of beginning arm balance poses and inversions in a safe and supportive environment. Together, we’ll work on preparatory poses which help build your core strength, flexibility and balance needed for these fun and challenging poses. The steps that you will practice to reach each pose will be broken down and demonstrated.
In this vigorous and alignment focused class, students will break-down the key elements of several common but challenging yoga poses seen in many vinyasa sequences. Featured poses include:
- Crow (Bakasana)
- One-legged arm balance (Eka Pada Koundinyasana B)
- Headstand (Sirsasana)
- Handstand (Adho Mukha Vrksasana)
